Introducing the new CAL from Helen Shrimpton of Crystals and Crochet - Winnie's Wonder!

Helen says:  "This year's Crochet-A-Long is named in honour of my Nanna, Winifred, who taught me how to crochet.  I learnt when I was very young, mainly making clothes and blankets for my dolls.  In my teenage years, I made scarves and book bags.  I then took a break and did more dress making and knitting.  I came back to crochet in 2013, and started designing in 2015, almost 10 years ago.  My designs all have meaning and come from the heart.  My Nanna was a very kind, caring and giving person and I like to think I take after her, and so, to honour her and share the love I have for this craft, this year's free crochet-a-long is Winnie's Wonder - a square blanket, made in the round.  Most of the stitches are quite simple, it is the way they are put together that forms a fabulous texture throughout the design.  The blanket is available in two vibrant colourways.  "

This yarn pack contains 17 balls of Stylecraft Special DK in the following shades and quantities:

• 6 x Stylecraft Special DK - Parchment (1218) - 100g
• 4 x Stylecraft Special DK - Mocha (1064) - 100g
• 3 x Stylecraft Special DK - Cornish Blue (1841) - 100g
• 2 x Stylecraft Special DK - Cypress (1824) - 100g
• 2 x Stylecraft Special DK - Vintage Peach (1836) - 100g

You will also need a 4mm crochet hook.  The finished blanket will measure approximately 154.5cm (61") square, and the yarn pack quantities given are for this size.

Please note: Pack quantities are given for the project when worked to the tension stated in the pattern.  If a different hook is used, or your tension differs from the designer’s, additional yarn may be required.
