Malabrigo Silky Merino - Mares (196) - 50g - Product Description
This delightfully drapey favourite combines 50% silk and 50% merino into a single-ply DK yarn that is absolutely a treat to knit and a joy to wear. The combination is soft, smooth, and itch-free even on the most sensitive skin- absolutely wonderful for garments, scarves, and other next-to-your-skin items. The silk content gives the yarn a bit more weight and drape than a pure merino, and a slight sheen that gives a fabulous finish. The fibres take dye a little differently, adding extra depth to the wide selection of semi-solid, variegated, and watercolour-multi colourways available.
All Malabrigo yarns are kettle dyed in small batches and often don't have a dye lot, which means the colours are likely to vary from skein to skein, even within the same batch. To ensure random colour distribution, try working from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball. Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project as the next batch we receive could be very different!
Due to differences in dye distribution between batches, it is not possible for us to update our product images to match current mixes exactly, and the images shown may not match the yarn you receive.
Please note: This yarn is supplied in a hank which requires winding before use. Attempts to use this yarn from the hank, rather than from a ball, will result in tangles, knots, and frustration!
