This blanket is designed by Catherine Bligh, inspired by the character 'Ross Poldark' from the BBC's television series Poldark (2015), and follows on from her popular Demelza blanket. She has used a colour palette drawn from the costumes worn in the series by Ross Poldark, which feature classic shades with highlights of colour. Catherine has incorporated lots of inspiration from the Cornish setting, including crossroads and breaking barriers into each square.

Catherine suggests using a 4.50mm crochet hook and, although gauge is not essential for this project, yarn quantities are based on Catherine's own tension. She suggests that the smallest squares in this pattern should measure 4 x 4 inches, the medium squares should measure 8 x 8 inches and the largest sqaure roughly 16 x 16 inches. Please be aware that Stylecraft Special DK comes in 100g balls and your own usage may be more or less depending on your gauge.

Stylecraft released step-by-step instructions for the Ross Blanket Crochet-Along which are all free to download from the Stylecraft website in English (UK crochet terms), English (US crochet terms), German and Dutch. Stylecraft also have tutorial videos on their YouTube channel.
