The photo tutorial gives you step by step photos so that you can clearly see what each round and repeat should look like. Plus if you are a more visual person or a beginner to crochet there are also video tutorials in US terms that take you through step by step, with lots of handy hints and tips for working the special stitches. Videos are available to purchase and view from Helen's website. The pattern is written to use 5 colours, but you can use as many or few colours as you like.
