‘The inspiration for this blanket came shortly after New Mexico experienced the largest wildfire in the history of the state. Beautiful communities in the mountains lost homes, a way of life, the glorious wilderness and wildfire surrounding them. Soon after the monsoons began, heavy rain clouds rolled in earlier than usual and began dousing the fires. The aquifers began to be replenished and seeds that had lain dormant for years began blooming. Grass sprouted and the beauty and the colours were palpable and poignant. This blanket represents the beauty of the flowers, trees, and grasses after the rain.’
