Originally a Crochet Now CAL project back in 2018, Rise and Shine is a brilliantly bright and cheerful blanket that is sure to inspire. Lucia Dunn from Lucia's Fig Tree has now released the instructions in a complete pattern, so we've put together an accompanying yarn pack so you can get started right away!

"The Rise and Shine is a blanket that is bursting with colours and texture. The idea behind the blanket is to create a project that not only is fun to make but also demonstrates, by using different techniques in each of the squares, how versatile crochet is! It is the perfect project for a beginner that wants to learn new techniques and for the more experienced crocheter that wants to try something new.

This pack contains 25 balls of Stylecraft Special DK (100g), a 100% acrylic yarn, in the follwing shades:

• 3 x Mustard (1823)
• 2 x Fuchsia Purple (1827)
• 2 x Magenta (1084)
• 2 x Shrimp (1132)
• 2 x Grass Green (1821)
• 2 x Sage (1725)
• 2 x Bright Pink (1435)
• 2 x Emperor (1425)
• 1 x Cream (1005)
• 1 x Plum (1061)
• 1 x Fondant (1241)
• 1 x Pistachio (1822)
• 1 x Empire (1829)
• 1 x Petrol (1708)
• 1 x Lipstick (1246)

And the following in Stylecraft Special Aran:

• 1 x Lipstick (1246)

You will also need 4.00mm, 5.00mm, 6.00mm, and 7.00mm crochet hooks

Finished blanket size: 180cm x 120cm approx.

Please note: Based on the designer’s tension, 98g of Fondant 1241 and 96g of Empire 1829 were used in this blanket. Depending on how loose your tension is, you may need to purchase additional balls of these shades.

Please also note: Pack quantities are given for the project when worked to the tension stated in the pattern.  If a different hook is used, or your tension differs from the designer’s, additional yarn may be required.
